Hello Friends,

Are you as saddened as I am by the stories of the people killed in Orlando?   No matter where you stand on issues of guns or sexual orientation or any other matter, I pray we all agree that no one should die at the hands of hate and prejudice.

In light of this, Jesus says to His own people:  RED ALERT!!!  Check your hearts!  The elder brother (Luke 15) is the one in serious trouble.

Do you recognize any of these in yourself?

• judgment (signs like rolling of eyes, puffs of breath from your nose, smirks, harsh words)
• exclusive language:  “us/ them,”  “we/you,” “in/out,” “those people”
• lack of compassion
• avoidance of people unlike yourself

You know, death comes in many forms and increases in intensity if left unchecked.   Jesus will have none of that.   Confess and ask God to align your heart with His.
